A 16-year-old boy who is unable to care for himself because of unspecified “cognitive conditions” disappeared yesterday in Long Beach, police said in a statement this morning.

The boy, Corrion Scales, was dropped off at his home around 5 p.m. on Monday, but he then walked out of sight and hasn’t been seen since, according to police, who did not specify where his home is.

“He has walked away in the past, but was located by his family in the local area,” police said. “Scales was on foot, does not have a cell phone nor tracking device on his person and an unknown amount of money.”

They described Scales as 5-foot-9, 110 pounds, wearing a black hoodie, black sweatpants and black shoes.

Police asked anyone with information to contact the missing persons detail at 562-570-7246 or police dispatch at 562-435-6711. Anonymous tips can be sent through lacrimestoppers.org.
