2:35pm | The Long Beach Area Republican Party will host a reception with several distinguished guest speakers and political candidates at The Grand tonight at 6:00pm. The event is entitled “All Politics Is Local.”
Republican candidates for both local and statewide offices will attend, and members of the public are encouraged to bring questions. Presentations will begin at 6:30pm tonight, and the admission is $20, which provides “a light buffet, beverages and a higher political IQ!” according to a press release. Young Republicans receive 50% off. The Grand is located at 4101 E. Willow.
Candidates such as Barak Lurie (46th Congressional candidate), Star Parker (37th Congressional candidate), Larry Andre (39th Congressional candidate), Chrystopher Smith (39th Congressional candidate), John Stammreich (28th District State Senate candidate), Gwen Patrick (52nd District State Assembly candidate), Martha Gibson (54th District State Assembly candidate), Tom Reeves and Robert Shannon (Long Beach City Attorney candidates), Tim O’Reilly (Long Beach Prosecutor candidate), Jana Shields (City Council 1st District candidate), Gary DeLong and Terry Jensen (City Council 3rd District candidates), Mike Hedges (City Council 5th District candidate), Lydia Gutierrez and Diane Lenning (State Superintendent of Public Instruction candidates) will all be in attendance.
Spokespersons for Chuck DeVore (U.S. Senate candidate), Carly Fiorina (U.S. Senate candidate), Steve Poizner (Governor candidate) Meg Whitman (Governor candidate), Dana Rohrabacher (Congressman) will also be in attendance.
Groups that will be in attendance include the Long Beach Area Republican party, Long Beach Republican Women Federated, L.B. GOP, Long Beach Lincoln Club, Long Beach Young Republicans and the Los Angeles County Young Republicans.
