BertrandEaster Seals Southern California (ESSC) Disability Services announced this week that it has named Long Beach resident Mark Bertrand to its board of directors for a three-year term. Bertrand is currently the vice president of Space & Defense for Boeing Capital Corporation (BCC) in El Segundo, California, according to the announcement, and serves on the board of trustees at the Aquarium of the Pacific.

“Mark has shown tremendous support of Easter Seals and especially our Bob Hope Veterans Support Program,” said Mark Whitley, president and chief executive officer of ESSC, in a statement. “We’re delighted to have the opportunity for Mark to strengthen his involvement with Easter Seals, representing a company which has a demonstrated commitment to supporting organizations working in their local communities.”

“Working with the defense sector at Boeing has spurred me to support our military in other ways,” Bertrand said in a statement. “Veterans employment services provided by Easter Seals, as well as the other critical services for people with special needs, provide meaningful solutions for those working to establish a more independent life.”

Bertrand’s current position as vice president of Space & Defense includes leading the team that structures and arranges financing on behalf of Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) defense and commercial satellite customers, according to the announcement. Bertrand served as director of customer finance for Lockheed Martin Finance Corporation prior to Boeing.

ESCC provides services to empower individuals with disabilities and special needs at all stages of their life. ESCC’s autism services, independent living services, social skills support, early childhood education services and employment services for civilians and military veterans are all designed to help people live independent and productive lives so they can live, learn, work and play in their communities, stated the release.
