Senator Alan Lowenthal and Mayor Bob Foster will co-host the live auction portion of Children Today’s 10th annual Holiday Cheer Wine Tasting and Auction. The fundraiser will be held at the top floor of the Arco Towers in downtown Long Beach on November 29th with doors opening at 6:00 p.m. Proceeds will benefit Children Today, a nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of children experiencing homelessness.
With an expected attendance in excess of 450 guests, Holiday Cheer is Children Today’s marquee fundraising event. Guests will sample a variety of wines and a light buffet dinner before bidding on diverse auction items like travel packages, sports activities and tickets, entertainment events, and gifts and personal items. Senator Alan Lowenthal and Mayor Bob Foster will be on hand to encourage a lively and competitive auction.
Tickets for Holiday Cheer are $110 each and can be purchased online using PayPal or are available at the door. Guests can also use the agency’s website to bid on auction items, review sponsorship and underwriting opportunities and learn more about the services offered by Children Today. Persons interested in attending Holiday Cheer can visit childrentoday.org for more information.
The proceeds from this event will be used to support The Play House West – Children Today’s licensed developmentally appropriate child care and preschool facility located at the Long Beach Multi-Service Center, which serves infants through preschool age children in homeless families. Children at The Play House West benefit from a safe environment, nutritious meals, access to health care services, and loving caregivers. Funds will also support The Play House North – Children Today’s new child care and preschool program slated to open in early 2008.
