Fresh from a trip to India where she and a 25-member delegation met with a delegation of the country’s government, education and business leaders, City Councilwoman Suja Lowenthal expressed satisfaction and optimism for future partnerships.

“These early results are very significant and hints at the tremendous opportunities and economic potential of a partnership between Long Beach and India,” said the councilmember. “We are forging long-term business relationships and I look forward to working with the delegation to reach agreements that benefit Long Beach and our region.”

Lowenthal and the associates accompanying her hope that their optimism pays off, reporting possible billions of dollars that Indian partners plan on investing in Southern California industries.  The two sides also spent time discussing India’s growing infrastructure needs such as improvements and expansions to air and sea ports.
