Vice-Mayor Bonnie Lowenthal has won the California State Democratic Caucus for the 54th Assembly District with 71% of the votes. The vote was ratified Sunday morning, and Lowenthal will head towards the June 3 primary as the officially endorsed candidate of the state Democratic Party.
In the Saturday vote, Lowenthal received 28 votes, Reyes-Uranga 7, and four others voted no endorsement.
