Police are seeking a suspect after a man was stabbed along Fourth Street in Alamitos Beach late Tuesday morning, authorities said.

Officers arrived at the intersection of Fourth Street and Bonito Avenue sometime around 11:47 a.m. after receiving reports of an assault with a deadly weapon, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

At the scene, police located a man suffering from stab wounds to the upper and lower body, according to the LBPD. The victim was transported to a local hospital by the Long Beach Fire Department where he was treated for his injuries and is expected to survive, police said.

Details on the stabbing were not immediately available, although police determined the victim was stabbed by another man who fled the scene before officers arrived.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing, according to the LBPD.
