A man suffered serious injuries Saturday morning after falling 25 feet off a bridge near the Long Beach (710) Freeway and Pacific Coast Highway, authorities said.
Long Beach Fire Department (LBFD) personnel responded to the scene near the Los Angeles River and West Pacific Coast Highway at about 8:46AM, said LBFD spokesman Brian Fisk.
LBFD paramedics transported the man to an area hospital. Officials did not elaborate on the man’s condition, but said it was initially ruled an accident.
“Police were not ruling it as a suicide or an attempt at the time,” Fisk said.
No further information is currently available, including how the man fell from the bridge or if he landed in the water or on the pavement, Fisk said. This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
