A man shot at a vehicle with two people inside early Monday morning in the Bixby Knolls area, an incident police believed was sparked by road rage.

Police did provide further details about what led to the shooting or the dispute.

No was injured in the incident, which occurred at 1:45 a.m. Monday at Del Amo Boulevard and Orange Avenue.

Police found bullet casings at the scene and “other evidence of a shooting,” but the gunman remains at large, said Allison Gallagher, spokeswoman for the Long Beach Police Department.

Police did not offer any description or details about the assailant.

Police also responded to two other shootings and a stabbing Sunday near Poly High School that injured one person.

In the stabbing, police said a man was standing in an alley at 7:33 p.m. in the 2100 block of Elm Avenue when he was approached by three men. The men and the victim had a brief conversation that escalated into a fight, when one of the men stabbed the victim, police said.

The suspects fled before officers arrived, Gallagher said.

The Long Beach Fire Department transported the victim to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, Gallagher said.

No-hit shootings

Police were called at about 8:45 p.m. to the 700 block of Orange Avenue about a person who was shooting a gun into the air.

Based on a witness description, officers arrested Eduardo Rodriguez, 32, of Downey, on suspicion of possessing a firearm, discharging a firearm in a negligent manner, possession of a firearm without identification marks and parole violation.

Rodriguez is being held without bail, authorities said.

In a separate incident, police were called to the 6400 block of Orange Avenue in North Long Beach at 11:10 p.m. regarding a car residents said had been hit by gunfire. Police believe that an unknown suspect fired the gun into the air and struck the vehicle.

Gallagher said the investigation is still ongoing.
