A man was found dead Thursday afternoon on Surfside Beach, authorities said.

Seal Beach police said in a statement Friday morning that the body was discovered at the beach around 5:50 p.m. in an area adjacent to the Surfside Colony housing development near 89 B Row in Seal Beach.

Authorities responding to the scene did not locate any obvious signs of trauma on the man’s body that may indicate any foul play was involved.

Orange County coroner investigators are currently working on identifying the man and notifying his next of kin, police said.
