UPDATE | Authorities identified today a man found dead at the Port of Long Beach Monday morning. 

The coroner’s office identified the victim as 21-year-old San Pedro resident Armando Amayo.

He was found dead with a gunshot wound Monday, September 5 on the 300 block of Hangin Road, according to the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD).

PREVIOUSLY: Man Found Fatally Shot at Long Beach Port  Monday Morning

9/5/16 at 5:02AM | A man was found shot to death in the Port of Long Beach Monday morning, authorities said.

Officers responded to a “subject down” on the 300 block of Hanjin Road on Monday, September 5 at 10:05AM, according to a release from the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD).

Arriving officers found an unresponsive man with a gunshot wound. Personnel with the Long Beach Fire Department (LBFD) determined him dead at the scene.

Authorities do not have suspect information available at this time.

The Los Angeles County Coroner will identify the victim pending notification of kin.

Police do not know the motive for the shooting. The investigation remains ongoing.
