8:15am | Long Beach Police are investigating the murder of a Los Angeles man who was found stabbed to death Tuesday at a bus stop in West Long Beach, police said.

Long Beach police officers responded to a call for service just before 7 a.m. Tuesday near the intersection of Wardlow Road and Webster Avenue regarding a person at a bus stop that appeared to be unconscious, according to information provided by Long Beach Police Department spokesman Rico Fernandez.

Upon their arrival, the officers discovered the body of a 36-year-old male whose last known address was in Los Angeles. He had been stabbed to death, Fernandez said.

The victim’s name has yet to be released pending the notification of next of kin. 

The officers called paramedics, who confirmed that the man was deceased. He had been stabbed several times in the upper torso with an unknown object, Fernandez said.

Homicide detectives are continuing their investigation, Fernandez said.
