Police say they’re investigating a stabbing Wednesday night near Shoreline Village that left one man injured.

Officers were notified of the stabbing just before midnight and responded to the 400 block of Shoreline Village, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

There, authorities found a man suffering from stab wounds to the upper body and transported him to a local hospital for treatment, police said, adding that he is expected to survive.

Investigators later learned that the victim was standing outside when a man grabbed and restrained him from behind while another man stabbed him in the upper body, according to authorities.

No arrests were made, as the two suspects fled the scene before officers arrived. At this time, there is no suspect information, and the motive for the stabbing is unknown, police said.
