Police are investigating a shooting in North Long Beach that left a man injured Monday night.

Officers responded at around 7:20 p.m. to the 5400 block of Paramount Boulevard, where they found the man suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

Long Beach Fire Department personnel subsequently transported the man to a local hospital for treatment, police said, adding that his wound was not considered life-threatening and he is in stable condition.

As of Tuesday afternoon, authorities could not provide more information about what led up to the shooting or how it happened.

“At this time, suspect information, motive, and circumstances leading up to the shooting are unknown,” police said.
