Police said they’re investigating a shooting in Cambodia Town after a man was struck by gunfire Wednesday night near MacArthur Park.

Long Beach police responded around 8 p.m. to the area of Warren Avenue and East Werner Street after reports that shots had been fired in the area. When officers got to the scene, they found a man with gunshot wounds to the upper and lower body, LBPD spokesperson Allison Gallagher said. Bullet casings were also discovered at the scene, according to LBPD.

Long Beach fire personnel arrived shortly after and transported the victim to a local hospital, where he has since been listed as being in stable condition, Gallagher said.

Police do not have any suspect information, Gallagher said. Gang detectives also responded to the scene and an investigation is underway to determine a motive for the shooting.
