Long Beach gang detectives are investigating after a man was stabbed with an unknown object after an altercation at the Pike Outlets in Downtown Long Beach.

Officers got reports of a stabbing at a public walkway at the Pike Outlets between Pine Avenue and Aquarium Way at about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, police spokeswoman Jennifer De Prez said.

The victim took himself to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries to his upper body, she said.

“The preliminary investigation revealed the victim and an adult male suspect were involved in a verbal altercation which led to a physical altercation and subsequent stabbing with an unknown object,” De Prez said.

The man suspected of stabbing the victim is still outstanding and detectives think other suspects may have been involved in the physical altercation.
