3:00pm | Last night at approximately 6:40 p.m., Long Beach Police responded to a “shots fired” call in the 200 block of East Arbor Street in the northwest sector of the city that resulted in the death of an adult male.

When officers arrived, they discovered 60-year-old Marvin Williams of Long Beach down on the ground.  The victim had a sustained a gunshot wound to the torso and was immediately transported to a local hospital.  Shortly after arriving, he was pronounced deceased as a result of injuries sustained in the shooting.

The preliminary investigation indicates that the victim was confronted by someone prior to the shooting; however, the motive is unclear and the investigation remains ongoing.  No suspect information is available at this time and detectives are hoping someone will come forward with more information.
