1:47pm | A neighbor used a garden hose to fight a fire that had started inside his neighbors house while he waited for firefighters to arrive on Sunday. A press release from the Long Beach Fire Department called the man’s efforts “courageous.”
Firefighters responded to the call at 1126 Walnut Avenue on Sunday to find the man battling the flames with the hose, while kept the fire contained and stopped it from spreading to other parts of the home. Firefighters forced open the front door, ventilated the building and extinguished the fire. No one was hurt but five people are displaced from the home, and are currently staying with relatives.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
