Man, woman arrested in connection with deadly North Long Beach shooting, police say
Long Beach police say they’ve arrested a man and a woman in connection with the August shooting death of a 48-year-old man in North Long Beach’s College Park neighborhood.
Daven Trotter, 27, was taken into custody on suspicion of murder Thursday morning at his Long Beach apartment near Houghton Park, police records show. Meanwhile, 26-year-old Geneece Shallowhorn was arrested on suspicion of one count of accessory to murder, according to police. Booking records show she lived at the same apartment as Trotter.
Trotter is accused of fatally shooting 48-year-old Kacy Lloyd, who was standing next to his parked car in the 6700 block of Harbor Avenue just before midnight on Aug. 21.
Lloyd, a Los Angeles resident, died at the scene.
Detectives have yet to determine a motive for the shooting, although they previously said it may have been gang-related.
Trotter and Swallowhorn remain jailed in lieu of $2 million and $1 million bail, respectively, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
Detectives will present the case to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for filing consideration, police said.
