A man was wounded last night near Seventh Street and Alamitos Avenue, but he wouldn’t cooperate with investigators trying to find the shooter, according to Long Beach police.

Police said they were called to the shooting around 9:30 p.m. and found the man with wounds to his upper body that weren’t life-threatening. Medics took him to the hospital in stable condition.

Police said they believe the man was shot in the area “a short time prior” to 9:30 p.m., but few other details were available.

“The victim was uncooperative during the preliminary investigation,” LBPD spokeswoman Jennifer De Prez said.

Detectives so far don’t have any suspect description and don’t know of any possible motive, police said.
