Man wounded in shooting near Rose Park neighborhood, police say
Police say a man was injured early Tuesday morning after being shot near Long Beach’s Rose Park neighborhood.
The shooting took place around 1:06 a.m. in the 2800 block of East Seventh Street.
There, police located a man suffering from gunshot wounds to the lower body. He was then transported by Long Beach Fire Department personnel to a local hospital, police said, adding that his injuries were not life-threatening.
Officers later discovered the victim was shot by another man who fled the scene before police arrived. It’s not clear if the two knew each other.
No suspect information is known at this time, and the investigation, including looking into a motive, is ongoing, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
