A man was wounded early Saturday morning after being shot near Long Beach’s Willmore neighborhood, authorities said.

Police said the shooting happened sometime around 2:08 a.m. in the 700 block of Daisy Avenue. When officers arrived, they located the man suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

The man was transported by Long Beach Fire personnel to a local hospital where he was treated for his injuries, which were considered non-life-threatening, the LBPD said.

No suspect information was available as they fled the scene before authorities arrived. The investigation into the shooting, including a motive, is ongoing.
