Long Beach police say a man was stabbed Wednesday night but refused to tell officers details about the crime.

Officers were notified of the stabbing just before 8 p.m. and responded to the intersection of Gundry Avenue and 14th Street, according to the Long Beach Police Department. The area is near MacArthur Park.

When officers arrived in the area, they found the man with multiple stab wounds to the upper body, police said. Police say the man was uncooperative and would not provide a statement to officers about the stabbing.

Long Beach Fire Department personnel arrived at the scene and treated the man before transporting him to a local hospital, authorities said, that his injuries were not considered life-threatening.

At this time, there is no suspect information, police said. The investigation is ongoing.
