A man was hospitalized Wednesday night after being shot in West Long Beach, police said.

Officers were notified of the shooting sometime around 7:20 p.m. and responded to the 1500 block of West Parade Street, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

There, police located the man suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the upper body, and he was transported by Long Beach Fire Department personnel to a local hospital.

According to police, the man was arguing with the suspect when the dispute escalated and the suspect shot him. It’s not clear if they knew each other.

No arrests were made as the suspect fled the scene before officers arrived, police said. The investigation is ongoing.
