Ladies and gentlemen, we have an architecture and design legend in town and his name is Frank Gehry. According to Mayor Robert Garcia’s tweets, it’s safe to say the two are getting chummy over exciting plans for the city. Garcia pitched project ideas to one of the world’s greatest architectural minds, using a map of the Long Beach segment of the Los Angeles River.

We’ll go ahead and speculate the meeting has everything to do with the update to the Los Angeles River Link Plan, which was unanimously approved by the Long Beach City Council in August. The plan was last updated in 2007, according to the article.

According to Deputy Chief of Staff Daniel Brezenoff, the two were “discussing the LA River project and some of the other things happening in downtown,” a meeting of the minds that we’re going to use Twitter’s new “like” feature to heart all over as we wait for much-anticipated updates.
