Organizers estimated that more than 2,000 people attended Saturday’s 24th annual Memorial Hospital Torch Run at the lighthouse park in Long Beach, as more than 200 runs were held in honor of children with illnesses.
Most of the children ran the races themselves, accompanied by family and supporters, and all proceeds were given to the Jonathon Jacques Children Cancer Center.
