A Metro worker was struck by a train passing through the downtown Long Beach station Wednesday, leaving him with non-life-threatening injuries, according to authorities.
The man was struck at about 10:40 a.m. on First Street just west of Pine Avenue, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
He was taken to a hospital by Long Beach Fire Department personnel and Metro was providing support to him and his family. An update on the employee’s condition was not immediately available.
Both Metro and Long Beach police were investigating.
The accident temporarily halted service on Metro’s A Line between the downtown Long Beach and Pacific Avenue stations.
