An 11-year-old girl who went missing in Long Beach has been found safe, according to police, who said she was with friends in the city during the time her family was searching for her.

Police didn’t provide details on how she went missing or why she was not in contact with her family, but they said Thursday morning that she’d returned home unharmed.

On Wednesday, police said 11-year-old Leilani Faauli had been missing since Sunday afternoon when she was last seen walking around 2:30 p.m. in the 100 block of Pacific Avenue in Downtown Long Beach

At the time, they said, it wasn’t clear where Faauli may have been headed and she had no cellphone or tracking device.
