A 23-year old Long Beach man is dead after a Saturday night shooting around 11:00pm near the intersection of 11th Street and Orange Avenue, according to a statement from the Long Beach Police Department.
Officers arrived on the scene and found Jesus Nava with a gunshot wound to the upper body. Nava was pronounced dead shortly after being rushed a local hospital. Detectives are investigating the crime as possibly gang-related.
Nava is the 34th person to be killed in a shooting in Long Beach in 2009.

All 12 suspects arrested have been charged with murder – among other offenses – and are pending trial. All arrests have been made in connection with shootings that were determined to have been gang-related.
