So this is my last post as a columnist for City Soup. Starting tomorrow, the brilliant and talented Chad Greene (who many of you may remember from his days at the Long Beach Business Journal) will be taking over City Soup.
He will be covering City Hall, politics and the people and policy issues that you care about. Chad is going to bring his professional and unique perspective to the lbpost.com, and we welcome him.
As I write this, I am sitting down at George’s Greek Deli in Downtown Long Beach. It’s one of my favorite spots in the city. The food is great and the service is friendly.
Ironically, I wrote my first ever story for the lbpost.com at my laptop at George’s a year and a half ago. At the time, I thought that my column would be about food and politics. However, after only one post, I realized that I should focus my energies covering city hall and people and therefore dropped the food coverage.
Ever since then, we have been wanting to add a food columnist, and I am happy to report that we have one. He will be launching later this week, is a familiar name, and you would never guess how committed to cuisine he is. I won’t spoil the surprise here, but keep a look out for his restaurant reviews.
At its core, the lbpost.com is an organization powered by people. Our columnists write what they want, when they want to. What they write is their opinion and their perspective.
So, 105 stories later, I am happy to pass the baton to someone with much more experience and quite frankly, someone who is a much better writer.
Welcome aboard Chad!
