9:00am | On Tuesday, October 11th at 10:30am, 7th District Councilmember James Johnson and the Departments of Parks, Recreation & Marine and Public Works, will hold a groundbreaking ceremony for a new park on Baker Street in Wrigley Heights. This new park will complement the recently opened Wrigley Heights Dog Park. Taking advantage of grant funding, the Baker Street park will provide residents with recreational outlets to encourage healthy, active lifestyles.
“The western parts of our city are desperately in need for open space in order to provide families and neighborhoods places to exercise and enjoy each other’s company in an outdoor setting,” said Councilmember Johnson. “This land, which the city has owned for many years, has long been promised as a park and I’m proud to deliver on that promise. I will continue to explore ways to provide open spaces for our kids to play and to improve our neighborhoods.”
