2:01pm | Months of planning and hard work will come to fruition on Sunday, June 26, when G&G Studios, a new salon, will open its doors to customers in Bixby Knolls.

According to Blair Cohn, head of the Bixby Knolls Business Improvement Association, the salon is “sure to become the areas new destination for sophisticated hair.”

Cohn said the salon offers a full range of hair services from personalized color to stylish cuts.

Located across from Trader Joe’s at 4122 Atlantic Ave., the salon is in the heart of Bixby Knoll  one block north of Carson Street and just a mile north of the Atlantic exit on the I-405 Freeway. Ample street parking is available, supplemented by a private parking area for clients that is situated behind the location.

Inside, the completely remodeled space is a cool oasis, featuring what Cohn described as “relaxing shades of linen and chocolate with splashes of color.” The atmosphere is intimate and spa-like and offers various amenities.

Managed by creative director Gary Lee Wolf, G&G Studios benefits from his more than 20 years of experience as a stylist and color expert in theater, television and high-end salons in California, New York and Florida.

“I fell in love with this community all over again through my involvement with the Steel Magnolias and their wonderful charity work,” Wolf said, “When it came time to choose a location for this new venture, I insisted that it be located in Bixby Knolls.”

The grand opening celebration will take place from 1 to 6 p.m. this Sunday. It is set to include food and drink as well as the chance to meet the staff.
