Los Angeles County Supervisor-Elect Janice Hahn has hired outgoing Supervisor Don Knabe’s Assistant Chief of Staff Nick Ippolito as her new chief of staff, her office announced today. Ippolito has worked for LA County for 25 years.

During his time as the Supervisor’s assistant chief, Ippolito has delved into into welfare issues, children’s services, education, juvenile justice, seniors, homelessness, workforce development, child support and early childhood development. He has said he is also proud to be part of the LA County Safe Surrender program, according to city officials. 

Prior to joining Knabe’s staff, Ippolito worked for the LA County Department of Social Services for thirteen years. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from New York University.   

“Nick has devoted his career to Los Angeles County working to improve people’s lives,” said Hahn in a statement,. “He knows the ins and outs of county government and has been deeply involved in many of the issues that will be my priorities when I take office.” 

One of these key issues that Ippolito has worked on and is a main concern for Hahn is homelessness. In a previous interview with the Post, Hahn said homelessness will be her top priority issue she will tackle once she is elected as LA county’s Fourth District supervisor. 


 

 “It has been a privilege to work for Supervisor Knabe,” stated Ippolito. “I am honored to have this opportunity to continue my work for the families of the Fourth District with someone as compassionate and focused as Supervisor-elect Janice Hahn.”
