7:00am | The 28th annual Greater Long Beach Leadership Prayer Breakfast is asking for nominations for two awards that will be presented at the event on October 7, in the categories of Emerging Youth Leader and Community Leadership Award.
The event will be chaired by Rev. Jim Lewis, CEO and President of the Long Beach Rescue Mission, and Long Beach Police Chief Jim McDonnell will serve as keynote speaker.
“Our goal is to have local leaders begin the day with an understanding of how their leadership and decision making can improve,” Lewis said in a statement. “Leadership decisions have far-reaching consequences so we would argue that they should be based upon a solid moral and ethical foundation. We want to inspire them and provide information they can implement that very afternoon.”
Anyone can nominate someone to receive the Emerging Youth Leader Award or the Community Leadership Award. Submit your nomination to LBPrayer.com by September 15 if the nominee meets these criteria:
1. Demonstrated ethical leadership in their sphere of influence
2. Awareness of, and involvement in, local community issues
3. Excellent performance in school and/or work
4. Strong communication skills
“We want our local community leaders, both young and seasoned, to continue their work with refreshed vigor and practical tools,” Lewis said.
The event will be held at The Grand on October 7th, and award winners will be contacted by October 5. Tickets are available for $35 each through LBPrayer.com.
