Officers saved a man attempting to jump from a building in downtown Long Beach Monday morning, authorities said.
Police were dispatched to the 200 block of East Ocean Boulevard at 9:31AM on Monday, December 28, regarding an attempted suicide call, according to the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD).
Arriving officers found a man “seated at the edge of the roofline of a building, threatening to jump,” LBPD spokeswoman Marlene Arrona said.
Officers spoke with him for several minutes and were able to remove him from the edge, she added. The man was on the 15th floor, according to LBPD officials. Authorities did not specify which building the incident took place at.
