UPDATE | Power was restored early Wednesday afternoon to over a thousand Edison customers who were without electricity due to circuit failures in Long Beach’s Wrigley neighborhood, according to officials with Southern California Edison.
The power outage began at 12:28AM on Wednesday, November 25, due to two separate circuit failures, said SCE spokesman David Song. According to the city’s official Twitter page, the outage was caused by a downed wire, though Edison officials could not confirm this.
The affected areas included:
- Wardlow Road to the north, Spring Street to the south, Long Beach Boulevard to the east, and Pacific Avenue to the west.
- Wardlow Road to the north, Willow Street to the south, Long Beach Boulevard to the east, and Magnolia Avenue to the west.

11/25/15 at 11:40AM | Hundreds of Southern California Edison (SCE) customers in Long Beach will be without power until late Wednesday afternoon as technicians work to repair circuit failures, SCE officials said.
Two separate circuit failures caused 980 customers in the city’s Wrigley neighborhood to go without power on Wednesday, November 25, beginning at 12:28AM, SCE spokesman David Song said.
The power outage has affected 321 customers in the area within Wardlow Road to the north, Spring Street to the south, Long Beach Boulevard to the east, and Pacific Avenue to the west.
A total of 659 customers were without power in the area within Wardlow Road to the north, Willow Street to the south, Long Beach Boulevard to the east, and Magnolia Avenue to the west.
Power is expected to be restored at 4:00PM, added Song.
An SCE outage map states that 1,686 customers are affected so far.

11/25/15 at 9:38AM | Southern California Edison (SCE) workers are working to repair a downed wire that caused a power outage in Long Beach’s Wrigley neighborhood just after midnight on Wednesday and continues to impact hundreds of customers.
Power should be restored by noon in the area of Spring Street and Pine Avenue/Long Beach Boulevard, according to a tweet from the city. Currently 666 customers are affected.
The city also reminded drivers to treat intersections without power as four-way stops and take caution when proceeding.
The power outage was reported at 12:28AM on Wednesday, November 25, according to the SCE power outage map. The map shows the outage located near West Spring Street and Eucalyptus Avenue.
As of 8:51AM, the map showed the total number of customers impacted was 1,343, and estimated restoration was set for 4:00PM.
