An overturned big rig shut down the westbound Willow Street onramp at the southbound 710 in Long Beach and brought traffic to a crawl this morning, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The truck appeared to be a waste management vehicle, which crashed and came to a rest on its side just off of the onramp. The call regarding the crash came in at around 7:56AM, said CHP Officer Monica Posada.

A CHP incident information report said “good samaritans” broke the window of the tank, enabling the driver to evacuate from the vehicle. The vehicle was reported to be leaking and smoking at around 8:03AM.
A sig alert was issued for Willow street on the onramp to the 710, and the ramp is expected to be closed for three hours.
