The Zoom video conference app that has become an essential for people working from home due to the COVID-19 pandemic saw widespread outages in the United States and other parts of the world Monday morning.

The company reported the outage for its conference calls beginning around 6 a.m. PST. Services had been restored as of about 9:45 a.m.

The outage caused some snags for students at Cal State Long Beach, which had its first day of the fall semester Monday.

Cal State Long Beach Spokesman Jeff Cook said some connections but connectivity issue has been resolved.
