A person who was struck by a Metro Blue Line train in Long Beach Friday morning may have been attempting to commit suicide, according to the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD).
The injury took place near the train station at Wardlow Avenue and Pacific Place, the LBPD reported.
Long Beach Fire Department units responded to the scene at about 8:53AM, removed the critically injured pedestrian from underneath the train and took them to the hospital.

Buses were brought in to transport rail passengers around the area while an investigation was conducted. Normal rail service resumed about an hour after the incident.
