Last Friday evening, a 59-year-old San Pedro resident was struck by an oncoming vehicle after stepping off a curb near Cal State Long Beach.
After officers arrived, it was determined that the San Pedro resident was heading west on the south side of 7th Street when he stepped off the curb near the Pepper Tree Lane intersection. The 62-year-old driver of the 2013 Range Rover which struck the pedestrian said that he was unable to stop in time. There are no pending charges against the driver.
The victim is currently not being identified.
