A person was arrested Wednesday morning following a road rage incident in which police say he shot at a driver in Cambodia Town.

Police say the alleged road rage shooting occurred around 10:14 a.m. in the area of Anaheim Street and Alamitos Avenue, just west of MacArthur Park.

“Upon arrival, officers contacted the victim, who stated they were involved in a road rage incident with another vehicle, driven by a male suspect,” LBPD spokesperson Richard Mejia said. “This escalated when the suspect fired a shot in the direction of the victim’s vehicle.”

The driver did not sustain any injuries nor was their vehicle struck by the gunfire, Mejia said.

The male suspect was taken into custody soon after officers located him during a traffic stop in the area. During the traffic stop, officers seized a gun from the suspect.

The male suspect is currently awaiting booking at Long Beach City Jail. His identity was not immediately available.

The investigation is ongoing, police said.
