This last weekend, Californa Democrats held their annual state convention in San Jose. Numerous Long Beach elected officals and political operatives attended the convention as delegates and supporters of Councilmember Tonia Reyes-Uranga and Vice-Mayor Bonnie Lowenthal. Both Reyes-Uranga and Lowenthal were vying for the endorsement of the state party in their primary battle for the 54th Assembly District. The party endorsed Lowenthal.
