lbtchanges

lbtchangesLong Beach Transit (LBT) announced this week that starting Sunday, August 23, several LBT changes in service will commence.

On Route 1, service will be extended to SouthBay Pavilion; California State University, Dominguez Hills and the StubHub Center. The route will now serve the Del Amo Blue Line Station instead of Wardlow Station.

The last outbound trip from the Transit Gallery in downtown Long Beach that previously left at 8:35PM will now be extended to 9:05PM. The last inbound arrival to the Transit Gallery that previously arrived at 8:35PM will now arrive at 11:10PM.

Due to the route change, Route 1 will no longer serve bus stops at: Wardlow Station Bay 2, and Wardlow at Magnolia southeast.

Saturday and Sunday service for Routes 1, 21, 22, 71 and 72 is being improved from 45 minutes to every 40 minutes.

lbtchanges2On Routes 51 and 61 service will be reduced from 15 to 20 minutes on Saturdays and buses with more customer capacity will be used to assist in offsetting the service reduction.

Due to low demand, the last two eastbound trips on Route 81 will be reduced. The last eastbound trip will now depart the Transit Gallery in downtown Long Beach at 5:15PM.

On Route 103, buses are now laying over on Lakewood at Candlewood instead of Lakewood at Hardwick.

Route 131 will be improving service from 60 to 45 minutes.

One later northbound weekday trip will be added to Route 173 due to increased demand.

Route 181 buses are changing to Route 131 buses and vice versa at Wardlow Station. Customers staying aboard the bus and changing lines must be prepared to pay a new fare. Service after 8:30PM is being eliminated seven days per week due to low demand.

On Routes 181 and 182 service will be adjusted on weekdays from 40 to 45 minutes due to operational conditions.

Weekend service for Routes 191 and 192 is being operated earlier on Santa Fe to improve early morning connections to the Del Amo Blue Line Station.
