UPDATE | Long Beach detectives located a man who had been missing since Monday at a local hospital Thursday morning.

Police sent out a news release on Wednesday after 43-year-old Hue Ky Troung went missing near Orange Avenue and Ninth Street two days prior.

Detectives also distributed an internal bulletin and a patrol officer notified them on Thursday that they had came in contact with Troung days before and took him to a local hospital, police spokeswoman Jennifer De Prez said.

A man with diminished mental capacity and medical conditions has been missing since Monday, according to Long Beach police.

Hue Ky Troung, 43, was last seen by a family member around 5 p.m. on the 900 block of Orange Avenue, near Ninth Street, police said in a news release.

“Troung has a diminished mental capacity and a heavy speech impediment and is known to use public transportation,” the release said.

He is described as Vietnamese, 5 feet 5 inches, 135 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Troung was wearing a brown jacket, gray shorts and red shoes. He has a scar on his stomach and no upper teeth, according to the release.

Police ask anyone with information about Troung’s whereabouts, to call the missing persons detail at 562-570-7246 or dispatch at 562-435-6711.
