Police are investigating a stabbing that left a man injured Monday morning in North Long Beach, according to authorities.

Officers were dispatched to the area of Artesia Boulevard and Paramount Boulevard around 8:07 a.m. Monday and found a man who had been stabbed multiple times in the upper body. The man told police he had been stabbed by an unknown woman who fled the scene before officers arrived.

Long Beach Fire Department personnel responded to the scene and transported the man to a local hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

There is no suspect information available and a motive for the stabbing is unknown, police said.

The investigation is ongoing.
