Police are investigating two stabbings that happened in Long Beach over the weekend, including one incident that was reported during a robbery, authorities said.

The first incident took place Saturday, June 13 at about 10:30 p.m. Officers responded to a robbery call near the 710 Freeway and Ocean Boulevard where they found a victim who said a suspect armed with a knife approached him and his partner, according to Long Beach police spokeswoman Arantxa Chavarria.

The man suffered non-life threatening cuts to his upper body. Long Beach paramedics treated him at the scene, Chavarria said.

Police described the suspect as a man wearing dark clothing. He is still at large.

Police are unsure exactly where and when the second incident took place on Sunday, June 14. When officers were dispatched to a local hospital at about 5:55 a.m. regarding a stabbing victim, the man said only that the incident happened in Long Beach. He refused to cooperate with the investigation, Chavarria said.

The man sustained a non-life threatening stab wound to his upper torso.

Both incidents are still under investigation.
