Long Beach police are investigating four shootings and a report of an assault with a deadly weapon Friday night and early Saturday morning that left two people wounded.

The first call took place Friday night at about 8:55 p.m. in the 1400 Block of St. Louis Avenue. Officers found a woman who said she was inside her residence when she heard gunshots nearby, police said. She said her home was struck by the gunfire.

Police located a parked car near the scene that had also been struck by bullets, according to the LBPD. No injuries were reported, police said.

About an hour later, officers were dispatched to the area of 1200 Olive Avenue in Cambodia Town regarding a report of an assault with a deadly weapon, police said. The officers located a man who had puncture wounds to his upper torso. The man said he was walking in the area when a group of other men approached him and assaulted him with an unknown object before fleeing the scene, police said.

The Long Beach Fire Department transported the victim to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.

Later that night at 11:05 p.m., officers were on patrol near the 800 block of Chestnut Avenue near Downtown when they heard shots fired nearby, police said. The officers responded to the area of Magnolia Avenue and 10th street where they discovered bullet casings—indicating that a shooting had taken place, police said. No injuries were reported in this shooting.

Saturday morning at about 12:55 a.m., officers were notified of another shots-fired call near the 3300 block of De Forest Avenue.

At the scene, a woman said she was inside her residence when she heard gunshots nearby and noticed that her residence had been struck by gunfire, according to police.

Police said two men in a white vehicle fired shots, returned to the vehicle, and fled the scene. No injuries were reported, police said.

Later that morning, at about 1:30 a.m., officers responded to the 3300 block Artesia Boulevard in North Long Beach.

A man at the scene told police that another man got out of a silver vehicle, assaulted him with a wrench, which escalated into a shooting. The assailant then fled the scene prior to officers arriving, according to police. The victim refused medical treatment at the scene, and no other injuries were reported, police said.

All of the incidents remain under investigation, according to the LBPD, and police are still working to determine the motives.
