As a reminder, the deadline to register to vote in California’s 2022 Primary Election is Monday, May 23. Anyone wishing to register to vote before that day can do so online at LAVOTE.GOV.
Eligible voters who miss that deadline will not receive a vote-by-mail ballot. Anyone who misses the deadline and still wants to vote must complete same-day registration at the L.A. County elections office, at any county vote center or online.
People who use same-day registration can still vote in the June 7 primary, but their ballots will be processed and counted after the county elections office has completed the voter registration verification process, according to the California Secretary of State’s office.
Eligible voters who miss the May 23 deadline to register will also be able to vote in person at any Los Angeles County Vote Center beginning Saturday, May 28, according to the L.A. County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk’s office.
Anyone who is unsure of their voter registration can check it online. The county also offers election materials in 18 languages other than English. Those wishing to receive translated election materials can call 800-815-2666.
Registered voters who’ve already received ballots but haven’t yet voted can return them by mail or at any vote center in Los Angeles County or use one of the 17 vote-by-mail drop boxes throughout the city at various parks, community centers and libraries.
