12718237 1763287420561394 7479730215205814951 nToday, Los Angeles County Fourth District Supervisor Don Knabe announced his endorsement of Rosi Pedersen for Long Beach Unified School District (LBUSD) School Board, issuing a release proclaiming his support.

Pedersen has served as both a local teacher and administrator for over 30 years and is running for LBUSD’s Fourth District.

“I have known Rosi for over forty years and I am proud to endorse her campaign for Long Beach Unified School Board,” said Supervisor Knabe in a statement. “Rosi has made enriching the lives of students her life’s work, and she will bring the same passion, drive, and fresh ideas to the Long Beach Unified School District. Her storied career, as both a teacher and principal in Long Beach, has prepared her with the institutional knowledge needed to lead on Day One. Rosi will be a champion for every student and will ensure they are each on a path to a bright and successful future.”

“Supervisor Knabe is one of the most well respected leaders in our community, and I am honored to have his support in my campaign,” said Pedersen in a statement.

Currently a student teacher supervisor and leadership coach at CSULB, Pedersen stated that she decided to run for the position to continue to make a difference in Long Beach’s revered school district, in what called as being on the “cutting edge of innovation and reform.”

Pedersen is a Millikan High School graduate and earned her teaching credential from Cal State Long Beach (CSULB). She has served as a language development specialist, mentor coordinator, vice principal and principal at Long Beach School for Adults and Reid Continuation High School. She helped develop and carry out California School Boards Association Golden Bell Award-winning student enrichment programs, and is now working for the Molina Foundation. In addition, Pederson mentors budding principals for the Los Angeles County Office of Education, according to the release.
