The Downtown Long Beach Associates (DLBA) will play host to the Powerfest Thursday on Pine event tonight, with a wide range of attractions beginning at 5:30pm and wrapping up around 11:00pm, to highlight this coming weekend’s Sea Festival events on the water. The festivities will take place on Pine between Broadway and 4th Streets.
AC/DC cover band Bonfire will supply the background noise as monster trucks, powerboats and other watercraft are on display. A Miss Powerfest bikini contest will take place at Hooters, and wakeboarders will put on a Rail Jam stunt show; no word on what tricks will be attempted, but here’s hoping for Air Raleys and Half-cabs that would make even the likes of Danny Harf and Parks Bonifay proud (it’s a hobby of mine).
This weekend’s Sea Festival will feature beach and water sports like Collegiate Beach Volleyball Championships, a waterski race to Catalina and back, and Powerboat races. Click here for the full schedule of events.
